A rare winter storm in Rehoboth Beach

Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk

Last weekend, a winter storm hit the Delaware Shore, with Rehoboth Beach receiving upwards of 3 inches of snow (little for some states, but a good amount for Delawareans). Besides the super cold temps, we actually had a beautiful snow day. The storm lasted 24 hours, but there was enough snow to cover streets, trees, and even the beach for several days!

On Friday, January 19th, the day of the storm, the sky was dark grey and we had strong winds, but we still managed to brave the cold and walk the town.  The snow started around 2 pm, and by 4 pm there was enough snow on the ground to cover all of the famous Rehoboth Beach and Boardwalk.

On Saturday, we had a beautiful sunny morning, with plenty of blue sky; however, the temperature was still only around 27° F outside.

The town was beautifully covered by the snow but you could listen to the waves and even a few birds who ventured out in the cold.

Our little town is beautiful, no matter the weather! And for few people brave enough to handle the cold … the Coffee Mil was open to warm them up!

The cold weather has thankfull retreated and the snow has melted with the light rain we had the last few days. In fact the curreent temperature has gone up to an unseasnably warm 65°F!

It was a special weekend in Rehoboth Beach!
