Taco mania Festival
Even during the off-season, events do not stop at the Delaware Shore.
The 3rd Annual TacoMania festival brought together gastronomy and art on 26, 2019 to select the best Taco and Margarita from local restaurants in the Delmarva region.
Held at the Big Chill Beach Club in Bethany Beach, TacoMania tickets cost $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Attendees were able to taste 13 different tacos and 16 margaritas from some of the best restaurants in the area.
With a prime location in the Delaware Seashore State Park, the Big Chill Beach Club offers a very unique perspective: on one side of the ocean and on the other the Indian River Bay. Pictures of the sunset behind, the Indian River Inlet Bridge appear on many Bethany Beach postcards! The restaurant has a bar with a fun happy hour and also hosts other private events such as weddings and large parties.
At TacoMania, tourists and locals had the opportunity to sample unique and tasty tacos and margaritas while enjoying live Latin music from the Hot Sauce Band outside on the deck and cool tunes from DJ JY inside the tent.
In addition to the tasty eats and drinks, there was also a competition to select the area’s most creative artists. Over 20 artists decorated traditional Mexican skulls with plants, candles, and even driftwood. There was an auction to purchase each of the skulls and attendees voted on the best of show.
The event was sponsored by Tequila Don Julio and La Vida Hospitality, all proceeds benefitted the Developing Artist Collaboration, DAC. In total $ 15,000 was raised for the organization!

So even in the low season, the Delaware Shore region has many attractions for tourists and locals alike. In addition to TacoMania, there are many festivals and shows throughout the Fall, including Halloween, film, jazz, and even a marathon.
